Nihao Spring.

Reawaken your tastebuds with our newest spring dish—Buddha’s Palm Chicken Bowl. Fresh and crispy slices of stir-fried buddha’s palm and julienned cucumbers pair perfectly with our spring noodles tossed in a rich and velvety furu sesame sauce. We top it all off with tender and flavorful chicken marinated in galangal, garlic, cumin and rice wine. Sprinkle some scallions on top for that extra crunch.

meet buddha’s palm 佛手瓜 First cultivated by the Aztecs, this versatile squash—also known as chayote—has found popularity around the world, including China where it’s known as Buddha’s Palm (佛手瓜). At Junzi, we thinly slice and stir-fry the green fruit (yes, it’s a fruit!) with salt and white pepper to enhance its naturally crisp texture.

signed, seared, delivered. Ginger, rice wine, and salt are the three common building blocks of flavor behind most Chinese chicken dishes. open (furu) sesame Intensely flavorful, furu (腐乳) means fermented tofu, a beloved ingredient in Chinese cuisine and at Junzi that’s packed with umami goodness. We combine furu with sesame to create a creamy and nutty sauce that pairs perfectly with our thin, spaghetti-like spring noodles for a deeply satisfying, savory finish.

Our Menu

At junzi, we believe in the traditional Chinese adage that eating well means eating with the seasons. That’s why you’ll find seasonal vegetables in our ingredient-forward menu all year round. All our meals are prepared fresh in-house every day, from northern Chinese-style noodles and chun bings to salad bowls and specialty drinks.

tossed noodles 拌面

The stars of junzi’s daily menu are our northern Chinese noodle bowls. Made with your choice of either the wide and wavy knife noodles 刀削面 or the thinner and chewier spring noodles 阳春面, each noodle bowl is served with house-made sauces, braised meats, vegetables, and garnish—no broth necessary.

Gluten-free and vegan options also available.

Chinese salads 拌菜

*seasonal special (vegan + gluten-free)
A hearty spring salad of bok choy, kale, beech mushrooms, king oyster mushrooms, and shredded cucumber served with a refreshing ginger-sesame dressing. Add ginger-scallion chicken thigh for $2.5 more.
