Research & Development, Special Projects, & Events


Chef Lucas Sin is looking for a talented and passionate cook to join Junzi’s culinary team. The intern will work alongside the chef in developing new menu items, creating special tasting menus, pop-up experiences and offsite projects. This includes going out and about to find inspiration, writing and testing recipes in our lab, and executing special menus at events throughout the city. Though job duties will vary week to week, the kitchen work will be consistently demanding, high-paced and fun.


  • Aptitude and enthusiasm for all manners of kitchen work

  • Willing to work with demanding schedules and remain calm during all situations, (even if the kitchen is on fire, for example)

  • Diligence and a curious palate

  • Has eaten Chinese food before

Preferred Experience:

  • Kitchen work in a sit-down restaurant: small plates, coursed, casual, fine dining, or otherwise

  • Experience in menu creation from design to execution is a plus

All of our summer 2018 interns will earn a monthly stipend (or school credit for current eligible students), as well as enjoy monthly team dinners, cultural events, field trips and free admission to all museums in New York City.
