Business Intelligence & Data Analytics Internship, summer 2018
The Business Intelligence & Data Analytics intern will join our New York City office and report to Business Intelligence department. With a focus on data analysis, the intern will work in a cross-functional team to understand our business, track operational and marketing outcomes, perform market research and make recommendations based on analytics.
You will work closely with the Business Intelligence team to develop and update monthly operational performance report and ad-hoc reports that measures product or marketing campaign effectiveness.
Collect and use data to evaluate performance of newly implemented delivery platform, project revenue, and research potential alternatives.
Research market trends for similar food establishments, understand competition and identify new product or market opportunities.
Process and analyze large amount of customer and sales data for multiple stores, understand sales trends, product and store performances, and customer behaviors, and present insights that can lead to tangible recommendations to operational, product, and/or marketing teams.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or above* in business or quantitative discipline (e.g., Business Administration, Mathematics, Statistics, or Quantitative Social Sciences)
*Outstanding juniors and graduating seniors are encouraged to apply.
Proficiency working with MS Office, in particular Excel.
Familiarity with Google Drive and Google Analytics tools.
Superior analytic and problem-solving skills, comfortable to deal with large quantity of data with exceptional attention to details.
Exceptional ability to prioritize multiple tasks/projects to meet deadlines.
Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Ability to think out the box and form one’s own opinions through research and analysis and turn that into recommendations to improve or transform existing approaches.
Passion for learning new things and working for a fast-paced startup environment, ability to navigate ambiguity and be self-driven to explore beyond assigned tasks
Cultural curiosity, especially to Chinese culture, New York City and its culinary scene.
Knowledge of advanced analytical tools, programming languages, data visualization and business intelligence software programs. Previous experience in food industry or startup companies a plus.
